For Android devices: If the book is in PDF format, you may click to download and view (Androids have a built-in PDF viewer installed). If you have the Kindle app (free in the Google Play Store) you may click the "Kindle" version of a book and then download and open with that app. You may also click the "EPUB" link and open with Play Books (Google's pre-installed reader, similar to Apple's iBooks). You will first have to download the file and then go to your Downloads folder to find it and open it.
For Kindle devices: If the book is available in the Kindle format (.prc) you can download it to a folder on your computer and then open it using Kindle Reader, a free program from Amazon. You can also do the same on any Kindle device. If you aren't sure where the downloaded file went, please check your downloads folder, located in the Settings app (or sometimes a stand-alone app on some devices). For instructions on how to transfer books from your computer to your kindle device is using the "Email to Kindle" feature please visit http://www.amazon.com/gp/sendtokindle/email for more information. Once you have read the above, or if you are looking for more step-by-step instructions on how to email books to your Kindle device or account, please see http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/send-ebooks-documents-kindle-app-ereader/.
For Apple (iOS) devices: If the book is in PDF format, you may download and view with no app (iPhones have a built-in PDF viewer installed). If you have upgraded it to the latest operating system from Apple you have access to the iBooks app, which is an app used to view/read books. If you have this, you may click on the "EPUB" link next to the book. Then, if prompted, select to download and open with iBooks. If you have the Kindle app (free in the App Store) you may click the "Kindle" version of a book and then download and open with that app.
For Personal Computers: Unfortunately, most PC's do not already come with a program to open and read these eBook file types. Below are the possibilities for programs to use to open and read eBooks downloaded from Formed to your PC.
Additionally, formed.org does not support Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge for downloading and saving ePub files. We recommend using alternative web browsers such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox when downloading eBooks off of Formed.
•Adobe Digital Editions - This program can open and read any files downloaded in .EPUB file type •Icecream eBook Reader - This program can open and read any files downloaded in .EPUB file type •Adobe Acrobat Reader - This program is free and can be used to open files that are in a PDF format.
